Snow Day Yoga

Hello from sunny San Diego!  Unlike many parts of the country Southern California is nice and warm these days, but that doesn’t mean we can’t pretend to play in the snow. I have attached my “Snow Day Yoga Sequence and Breathing Activity – Bubble Snow” that is a great way for children to learn winter vocabulary while moving and playing. And for those students who may miss school due to severe weather, this is a great learning activity that can be done at home. I teach children of all abilities and have included adaptations such as visual and tactile aides (i.e., picture icons, photos and real objects) to support a variety of learning styles. The lesson plan (Click here: Snow Day Yoga) is all mapped out and can last anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on the number of students and their attention span. My preschool and kinder-aged students loved this sequence.
